YOU DON’T GET MONEY, YOU DO IT.

Robinhood was a newer brand trying to figure out how to capitalize on a meteoric surge in their app’s popularity. They didn’t know what COVID was — and couldn’t imagine their biggest PR scandal would involve Gamestop. We set out to show how Robinhood was putting the financial tools of the elite into the everyman’s pocket — and turning Wall St. into All St.

Michael just kept saying, “I don’t know. Harv’s been very good to me” (Harvey is his financial planner). We told him this wasn’t meant to replace professionals who could assist with more complex financial cases like his, but he just kept saying, “I don’t know…” Sometimes, he’ll get stuck on a point like that.

CONFETTI IS FUN.

We took a silly in-app feature — flying confetti that would burst onto your screen when you completed a trade — and made a whole campaign out of it that celebrates new investors getting into the game for the first time.

THIS NEVER AIRED.

We worked on this swaggering bull-market anthem starring Lakeith Stanfield for a long time. When we finally finished putting in the final touches, COVID hit, and the entire project was shelved. Lakeith was very nice, though!

IT BEATS ANGRY BIRDS.

We’re glued to our phones 24/7, so why not point out how all that time we waste on dumb apps and vapid media could be spent building a better financial future?
